Compare final output
Use the Pet’s displayed Cash value and your total Pen income. The result matters more than an assumed multiplier. If it replaces a weaker active Pet, keep it working; if it is mainly a new Index discovery, claim that benefit and continue.
Recheck after the event
An Egg collected during an event can remain in your possession after the notice ends. Judge the resulting hatch by its own card rather than assuming the event is still active.

What Not to Assume
Avoid turning a dated gameplay moment into a permanent rule. Specifically, do not assume:
- a particular percentage of Eggs will receive a mutation;
- Gold always provides the same multiplier;
- Purple Aura always arrives through the same event;
- two labels always stack in the same way;
- a mutation station always needs the same inputs;
- every mutation is visible before pickup;
- a special hatch always beats every ordinary Pet.

Skip it when the run would consume the last seconds of a restock, when a guardian blocks the only return line, or when you cannot verify what the notice changes.
