Open the Index Before You Choose an Egg
Use the Jump To Steal An Egg Pet Index as a route planner. Before leaving your Pen, pick one missing entry in an area you can handle. Bring back an Egg that matches the gap, hatch it, then reopen the Index and claim any reward waiting there.
Skip old checklist screenshots. The categories, totals, and payouts that matter are the ones shown in your current game.
What the Pet Index Tracks
The Index records Pets you have discovered through hatching. It gives you a structured view of collection progress and has shown claimable rewards tied to discoveries. That makes it more useful than simply looking around your Pen: it tells you what the game recognizes, not just what is currently equipped.
It helps with these decisions:
- Discovery: confirm whether a hatch is new.
- Claiming: collect a reward when the interface marks one as available.
- Planning: use blank entries and visible groupings to choose the next Egg area.
The Index is not proof that a particular Egg is currently on the map. Restocks change the available targets, so combine the collection screen with a live route scan.
The Index-to-Egg Workflow
1. Claim first
Open the Pet Index at your Pen and clear any claim buttons already available. This gives you an accurate starting point and can provide Cash before you buy the next upgrade.
2. Pick one reachable gap
Do not attempt to finish every category at once. Choose a missing entry in the highest area you can reach and exit safely. If the interface groups Pets by theme or area, use that grouping as your search boundary.
3. Read labels on the route
Egg appearance can be misleading. Move close enough to read the Egg name while keeping space from the guardian. If it does not match the target you want, leave it and check another spawn.
4. Bank the discovery
Once you grab the Egg, stop browsing. Take the planned route directly to your Pen. An unbanked Egg cannot become an Index discovery.
5. Hatch, verify, claim
Open the Egg after its live timer, then reopen the Index. Confirm the new entry and claim the reward if the UI offers one.
Choose the Right Collection Run
| Situation | Best Index action |
|---|---|
| Several early entries are blank | Run a short loop through the first safe areas |
| One higher entry is missing | Wait for its Egg label during a restock instead of grabbing substitutes |
| A discovery is complete but unclaimed | Claim before spending more time farming |
| You keep hatching duplicates | Recheck the Index and switch area or target name |
| The next area is unsafe | Improve Jump Power or Coil speed before pursuing its entries |
| An event changes Eggs | Inspect the live event notice, then decide whether collection or income is the better goal |
This stops you from collecting at random and assuming every new-looking Egg fills a gap. Let the Index pick the target. Let the map tell you whether the run is practical.
Version-Safe Collection Rules
Index screenshots age quickly. Use these rules instead of memorizing old totals:
- Trust names and completion states shown in your live Index.
- Treat every reward amount as version-specific until you see it in your own server.
- Do not assume a blank silhouette guarantees a particular rarity or income.
- Check again after updates, because entries and groupings can change.
- Record the Egg name you need, not a guessed appearance.
If a label is hard to read under pressure, retreat to a safe platform and reopen the Index. Losing an Egg to verify a silhouette wastes more time than one extra trip.
Balance Collection and Income
Completing discoveries feels productive, but your route still depends on Cash and Jump Power. If a missing entry sits above a platform you cannot consistently reach, pause collection and reinvest. A Barbell or Trail improvement can make several future Index runs possible at once.
Conversely, once your income comfortably funds the next upgrades, use downtime between hatches or restocks to fill early gaps. Short collection runs can produce claims without interrupting your main progression target.
A good rhythm is:
claim → select one gap → retrieve safely → hatch → verify → upgrade if blocked
FAQ
Where is the Pet Index?
Look around your Pen and the nearby game UI for the Pet Index control. Its exact presentation can change, so follow the current on-screen label.
Does every Pet discovery give the same reward?
Do not assume that. Check the claim shown beside the live entry; saved gameplay has displayed different discovery states and payouts.
Why did my Egg not fill the missing entry I expected?
The Egg may have contained a different Pet than you inferred from its appearance. Use the displayed Egg name and verify the hatch in the Index.
Can I complete the Index in one area?
No. The game spreads different Egg and Pet themes through its vertical areas, so expect to move upward to find more entries.
What should I do when the Index changes after an update?
Use the new live categories and completion states as your source of truth, then rebuild your target list from the remaining blanks.
